Revisiting Parental Consent on Abortion

This year has seen a flurry of state-level legislative action on abortion, initiated by both pro-life and pro-abortion advocates. The catalyst for much of this action has been hope (or fear) that the U.S. Supreme Court might modify, if not reverse, the unrestricted abortion...

A Pastor's Reflections

When the Church is silent, we revisit the sin of slavery. (When the Church is Silent, #8 of 10)

You shall not steal (Exod 20:15).   The natural bent of the human heart is to possess that which is not ours. James said it well: “What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war...

When the Church is silent, we support sexual immorality (When the Church is Silent, #7 of 10)

You shall not commit adultery (Exodus 20:14).   Adultery is a gospel matter. How so? Because God made man in His image—male and female (Gen 1:26). Because the union of a husband and a wife is a picture of Christ and the Church (Song of Songs;...

About the Human Life Review

Human Life Review
The Human Life Review is the only publication of its kind in the world: a journal devoted to life issues, primarily abortion (William F. Buckley once praised it as "the focus of civilized discussion of the abortion issue"), but also "neonaticide," genetic engineering, cloning, and fetal tissue experimentation, as well as the end-of-life issues of euthanasia, assisted suicide and suicide. We also publish articles dealing with more general questions of family and society: what the "abortion mentality" has done to our culture; how moral relativism has pervaded our political process as well as our educational system; and how the debates over day care and the children's rights movements, as well as the controversy over health care and end-of-life decision making, reflect a society sharply divided on the most basic moral questions.
