Nearly 70 people gathered on Thursday, May 19th, 2016 for One Spring Night. The jazz music from the beginning set the tone for a light, enjoyable atmosphere. “Light” is rarely a mood to describe events touching the topic of abortion, so attendees especially appreciated the music. Young professionals and college students were able to connect with one another and meet new people sharing like passions.
And of course the highlight of the evening: New Wave Feminists! NWF emphasized how pleased they were to see so many young women come out for a pro-life event. They encouraged them to be bold and change the misconception that pro-life activism consists only of angry white men. As expected, NWF mixed humor with their serious call to action. In the end, many attendees wanted to know when the next EXPECT event would happen, and lingered as they chatted with new friends.
