NEWSworthy: Comedian Bill Maher: Abortion Is ‘Kind Of Murder,’ But ‘I’m Just OK With That’

Comedian Bill Maher agrees with pro-lifers that abortion is murder, although he said he still supports it.

“A lot of people think it’s murder. That’s why I don’t understand the 15-week thing, or Trump’s plan is, ‘Let’s leave it to the states.’ You mean, so killing babies is OK in some states?” Maher said during an April episode of his show, “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

He made the comments in light of a decision by Arizona’s highest court to uphold a longstanding, though dormant, law that essentially banned all abortions. The state has since repealed those strong pro-life protections at the urging of former President Donald Trump and GOP Senate candidate and failed gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.

“I can respect the absolutist position. I really can. I scold the Left when they say, ‘Oh, you know what, they just hate women, people who aren’t pro-choice.’ They don’t hate women. They just made that up,” the liberal comedian said.

Maher then suggested abortion is needed because there are too many people on the Earth, a debunked viewpoint.

“They think it’s murder and it kind of is. I’m just OK with that. I am,” he said. “I mean, there’s 8 billion people in the world. I’m sorry, we won’t miss you. That’s my position on it.”

At least Maher is acknowledging the truth about abortion. However, society should protect all innocent life from abortion, and if Maher believes it is murder, he should support efforts to restrict it.

Several pro-life leaders praised Maher’s comments for their honesty.

“When Bill Maher keeps getting it right, you know the mainstream liberals have really gone off the deep end,” former Planned Parenthood activist turned pro-life leader Abby Johnson wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Founder and president of LiveAction Lila Rose called Maher’s comments “sickening.” She added via Facebook post, “No one should be ‘okay’ with the murder of innocent children.”

Maher “is right,” Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, wrote on social media. “Either abortion kills babies or it doesn’t.” She continued: “This is why the pro-life movement has and continues to fight for equal protection under the law. Saving innocent humans within our borders from death should be the minimum our federal government should do.”

With this latest admission from Maher, it becomes clear that while many of those who are pro-choice deny the humanity of the baby in the womb, some still recognize that abortion is murder.

Maher deserves credit for saying the truth, even if his further comments show he has more to learn about the sanctity of life.

Bill Maher may have made a valid point about what abortion existentially is, and some in the Pro-Life camp may applaud him for it. But Maher is no friend to the cause. He is no better than those who seek to extinguish the very existence of human life on the planet and, in fact, may be a charter member of a certain group whose single goal is precisely that.

He is an individual, in short, whose world view does not and cannot allow for the existence of a transcendental reality, that is, one inclusive of a Creator of all things, including most significantly humanity and even Bill Maher himself.

Sadly Bill Maher has let his heart to get more hardened. Bill is a Jew and doesn’t operate on graces the way Christians do. It’s still no excuse because we all have the natural moral law written in our hearts. The most dangerous people are liberal Jews and lukewarm Catholics. Look at GIA Publications for sacred liturgy CEO Alec Harris. He’s not even a Christian and supports abortion and LGBTQ. But he’s in charge of “sacred” music for a lot of our Catholic Churches. Makes you wonder if we have people who believe in God running our Church

Please remove all Nazi commentary such as that of the subhuman genocidal racist “Johnny” above with its explicit incitement to murder and genocide of all Jews. His death threats posted above when encountered in person need to be confronted not just politically but PHYSICALLY.
