Planned Parenthood Sold Six-Month Aborted Fetuses to University of California San Diego
Planned Parenthood provided aborted fetuses to the University of California San Diego under a contract recently obtained by the Center for Medical Progress.
Pro-life investigative journalist David Daleiden recently published the contract, which shows the abortion giant “supplying ‘viable nonanomalous’ fetuses up to 23 weeks old from elective abortions to UC San Diego.”
This is the latest development in the controversy; Daleiden revealed in March of this year that the university gave $10,000 to Planned Parenthood as a donation. Sen. Marco Rubio, a Florida Republican, asked for a Department of Justice investigation into the situation at the time.
The sale occurred “as part of its contract to sell the University ‘proprietary’ ‘fetal material’ in exchange for the ‘valuable consideration’ of owning any ‘patents’ and ‘intellectual property’ developed experimenting with them,” according to CMP.
The university wanted 2,500 babies for experimentation.
Daleiden suggested accompanying emails show some of the babies were viable, meaning they could live outside the womb.
“Planned Parenthood’s use of heavy doses of a labor contraction drug to dilate pregnant women targeted for a viable fetus harvesting project means these are likely not standard ‘dismemberment’ abortions, but either intact partial-birth abortions or full delivery of live preemies,” Daleiden stated on his website.
He also suggested racial discrimination occurred; a consent form given to Spanish-speakers did not include information about the “donation” having “commercial value.”
Pro-life leaders were quick to criticize the contract.
“This is an atrocity,” LiveAction founder Lila Rose wrote on X. “DEFUND Planned Parenthood NOW!”
President of 40 Days for Life Shawn Carney said this is “reason 4,638” to defund Planned Parenthood.
The Center for Medical Progress has also exposed the University of Pittsburgh for fetal harvesting with the help of millions of dollars from the National Institutes of Health. The public university wanted half of the babies “to be minority fetuses,” as Judicial Watch previously reported.
Sadly, these contracts show that abortion vendors, the federal government, and universities continue to commodify preborn babies and profit from their deaths. The incoming presidential administration should look to prohibit the sale, even if it is called a “donation,” of aborted fetuses. That would help restore trust in the federal government and science.
