About the Author

Ed Mechmann is a graduate of Catholic elementary and high schools, Columbia College and Harvard Law School. He was a former state and federal prosecutor before coming to the Archdiocese of New York in 1994. He is the Director of Public Policy and the Director of Safe Environment at the Archdiocese of New York. He has written extensively on pro-life, religious freedom, and public policy topics. He is married with two adult children. He and his wife volunteer in their parish and with the American Red Cross.
