“Supreme Court to Review Mississippi Law Limiting Abortion Rights

High court will take up state appeal seeking to ban the procedure after 15 weeks of pregnancy, giving justices opportunity to revisit Roe v. Wade.”

This morning, the Supreme Court agreed to consider a Mississippi law, rejected by the lower courts, that would ban abortion after 15 weeks. “By hearing the case in their next term, which starts in October and ends in June 2022, the justices will look at whether to overturn a central part of the landmark ruling, a longstanding goal of religious conservatives.”

“In a one-line order, the court said it will review just one question that cuts to the heart of Roe: whether all bans on abortion before a fetus can survive outside the womb are unconstitutional.”
